Carpet, done with care. Over 100 to feel in store.
To inspire beyond expectations.
What is carpet?
Carpet is still the warmest, most forgiving floor money can buy. Soft underfoot in winter, gentle on knees and toys, kind to ears, and quietly transformative for any room — bedrooms, living areas, stairs, kids' rooms. Modern carpets aren't the carpets you might remember. Stain-resistant fibres, low-VOC backings, solution-dyed nylons that don't fade, pure wools with character that grows over years. We stock over 100 ranges in store, from family-friendly synthetics through to luxury wool.

Frequently asked questions
Honest answer — for kids and pets, you want a solution-dyed nylon. The colour goes all the way through the fibre, so it doesn't fade, doesn't bleach, and shrugs off most stains. We stock a properly tough, properly affordable range built specifically for family homes — we've never had a customer regret it. Come in and have a feel; we'll point you at the ones that suit your household.
Most of our carpet customers spend between $60 and $90 per square metre on a typical install. We have carpets at both ends — entry-level options for rentals and budget refits, and premium pure-wool ranges that go above the mid-range. The right one depends on your house, how you use it, and what feels right underfoot.
Every standard install includes top-quality underlay, taking up your old carpet, disposing of it, and moving your furniture. Stairs and threshold trims can add a bit — we'll always quote any extras clearly upfront, so you see the whole number before deciding.

Most carpet installs are done in a single day. Even a full-house re-carpet is usually wrapped up before dinner. Larger or stair-heavy jobs might run into a second day — we'll tell you upfront with your written quote so you can plan around it.
Yes — moving your furniture is included in every quote. Our installers shift the lounges, beds, wardrobes and pretty much anything else that needs to come up, and put it back when they're done.
There are a few items we don't move (some need a specialist, some need to stay where they are) — we'll explain anything specific when we come out for your free measure. The only things we ask you to handle yourself are fragile bits and pieces — vases, photo frames, electronics — which are safer in your hands than ours.
Every fibre has a home. Wool is luxurious, naturally stain-resistant, fire-retardant, and ages beautifully — it's the right answer for premium bedrooms, formal living rooms, anywhere you want comfort and longevity. Solution-dyed nylon is the workhorse — kids, pets, high-traffic areas, holiday rentals. Polyester is the soft-and-affordable option — gorgeous to touch, great for budget refits. We'll talk you through what fits your house when you come in.
Blot, don't rub — most spills come up easily if you act fast. Vacuum twice a week in high-traffic areas, once a week elsewhere. Get the carpet professionally steam-cleaned every 12 to 18 months — it lifts what vacuuming can't and extends the life of the fibre significantly.
Every carpet has its own specific care instructions — we send the manufacturer's care guide after every install along with a follow-up call, so you've got the right answer for your specific carpet, not a generic one.
Every carpet we sell comes with a manufacturer's warranty — typically 7 to 15 years for residential carpets, longer for some premium ranges. What's covered varies by manufacturer and product, so the actual warranty document comes with your carpet and we're happy to answer any specific questions when you're choosing.
Here's the bit that matters more, though: we warrant the installation for the life of the product. That's the whole reason to buy from us instead of finding a layer direct. Cheaper layers come and go — they're in town one year and gone the next. We've been on Shearwater Drive since 2001. When you pay us for the whole job — the carpet, the underlay, the take-up, the install, the lot — the whole job is on us. One purchase, one number, one team responsible.
Almost always yes, and it's included in our quotes. Quality underlay extends the life of your carpet significantly, adds genuine comfort underfoot, improves sound insulation, and makes the room warmer in winter. It's one of those bits that costs comparatively little but makes a real difference — we don't try to talk anyone out of it.
Modern carpets are genuinely better for asthma and allergy sufferers than most people realise. Carpets actually trap allergens and dust — they don't blow them around the room the way hard floors do — and a good vacuum (we'll recommend the right one) lifts those particles out cleanly. We stock an allergy-conscious range that's Sensitive Choice approved and low-VOC — purpose-built for households where indoor air quality matters.
Straight away. Carpet doesn't need to cure or dry — once it's down and the trims are fitted, the room's yours. Most customers re-furnish that same evening.
Almost always no. Shading, watermarking, vacuum marks, pile flattening — they're all the same phenomenon, just light bouncing off the carpet fibres at different angles. It's a normal characteristic of pile carpets, especially plush styles, and not a defect. We mention this before you buy, not after, because some customers are sensitive to it. If you're choosing a plush carpet, we'll be upfront — and we can show you styles in store where it's barely noticeable if it's something you want to avoid.
